What is in it
The actives, explained.
Niacinamide
A form of vitamin B3 used on the skin to support the skin barrier.
Spironolactone
A medicine that blocks androgen (hormone) receptors. Taken by mouth it is used off-label in dermatology for some adults; in compounded creams it is applied to the skin.
Tretinoin
A retinoid (vitamin A derivative) applied to the skin. Retinoids influence how skin cells renew and are used in acne, texture and photoaging care.

How it is used
Directions come from your prescriber.
A cream applied to the skin. Amount, frequency and time of day are set by your prescriber and printed on the label.
This page deliberately gives no amounts, frequency or duration. If prescribed, the pharmacy label and your provider’s instructions are what you follow.
Cautions to discuss with your provider
- Generally well tolerated; occasionally causes flushing or irritation.
- Oral use is not appropriate in pregnancy, can raise potassium and lower blood pressure, and may change periods. Our concern pathways never show spironolactone formulas on the men’s branch.
- Dryness, peeling and irritation are common at first. Increases sensitivity to sunlight. Not used in pregnancy: tell your provider if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Prescription only. A licensed provider decides whether it is appropriate; approval is not guaranteed.
General safety information, not a complete list. Your intake asks about medicines, allergies, pregnancy and health history.
