Dermatology is a highly visual specialty, and many common concerns can be evaluated remotely using clear photos, a structured clinical intake, and live audio or video when required by state law or your provider. Ongoing follow-up is how good dermatology works.
What you're paying for: Your intake and photos are reviewed by a licensed provider, and you must complete any live audio or video consultation required by your state or provider. If prescription treatment is clinically appropriate after all required steps, your treatment plan is processed for fulfillment. How quickly will I hear back?
Initial reviews typically happen within 24 hours of completing your intake. If additional information or a live audio or video consultation is required by your state or provider, the timing of the final prescribing decision will depend on when that step is completed.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel, pause, or resume from your patient portal at any time. If you ever move to a lower treatment level, the difference is issued as account credit rather than lost.
Will I receive a prescription?
Only if indicated. Prescription treatment is provided when your reviewing dermatology provider decides it's appropriate after reviewing your intake and photos. Some patients are advised on non-prescription care or referred for in-person evaluation instead.
What conditions do you treat?
Acne, rosacea, pigmentation and melasma, hair thinning, texture and aging concerns, and general dermatology. Your reviewing provider decides whether online care is appropriate for your specific case.
Do I ever need an office visit?
Sometimes. If your provider determines the condition needs in-person evaluation — for example certain eye symptoms with rosacea, unusual lesions, or scalp findings — they'll refer you rather than treat online. Patient safety comes first.
How is this different from urgent care?
CutisRx is dermatology-specific care from providers who focus on skin, hair, and pigment conditions. The intake and pathways are designed by a board-certified dermatologist, and treatment plans are built for follow-up over weeks and months — not one-off visits.
Can I use insurance?
CutisRx is direct-pay. Insurance is not currently accepted. Receipts are available through your patient portal for personal records or FSA/HSA reimbursement.
What if telemedicine isn't right for my condition?
Your reviewing provider will tell you. If your case isn't a good fit for online care, they'll explain the next step — often an in-person referral. You'll never be prescribed something that doesn't fit your situation.
How does prescription shipping work?
If prescription treatment is indicated, your medication is sent to a trusted partner pharmacy and shipped directly to your door. Refills and adjustments happen through the patient portal — no pharmacy pickup lines, no repeat appointments.
What happens after I pay?
Your intake goes to a licensed dermatology provider for review — typically within 24 hours. You'll get notified in your patient portal when your plan is finalized. If prescription treatment is indicated, it's shipped to your door. You can message your care team any time through secure messaging in the portal.
How does the 90-day plan compare to paying monthly?
The 90-day option is available for patients who prefer fewer refills and a lower per-month cost. Monthly remains the lower-upfront starting point and is selected by default. You can choose the option that feels right before payment.
Is the $49 offer for every program?
No. The $49 introductory offer applies to eligible topical-only plans for the first month with code TOPICAL49. Combination, hair loss, and general dermatology programs are not eligible for TOPICAL49.
What happens if prescription treatment is not indicated?
Your provider will only prescribe treatment if it is clinically appropriate. If online prescription care is not right for you, your provider will explain the safest next step, and any eligible refund will be handled according to our refund policy.
What if I live in Alaska, Mississippi, or New Jersey?
CutisRx is not currently available in AK, MS, or NJ due to state telehealth licensing. If you live in one of these states, we recommend seeing a dermatologist in person. We're actively working to expand coverage.
